Chris was born and raised near Long Beach, CA and graduated from Westmont College (Santa Barbara) in 2004 with a BA in Political Science.
He and his wife spent their first year of marriage as beach bums in Newport Beach while on staff together at Rockharbor Church. They then spent the next six years near Vancouver, WA, where Chris enlisted in the Army Reserves and worked as a middle school history and Bible teacher, while also coaching high school soccer.
In 2011, Chris was deployed to Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division, serving in combat with a multinational special operations team supporting the coalition's stabilization efforts in RC(S)-Kandahar. At the end of his tour, the Army moved he and his family to Colorado, where he served two more years on active duty helping to oversee administration and training for a Hospital Reserve Unit.
Upon leaving active duty, Chris was hired by the Arvada Police Department. An honor graduate of his Academy class, he quickly became a Field Training Officer, Instructor, and CSI, working for two departments over almost six years in the Denver area. In March 2020, after many years as a lay leader, Chris joined the staff of Mission Hills Church as Local Outreach Director.
Chris oversaw the church's emergency community response to COVID-19 for many months, and helped strengthen area relationships, as well as overseeing several large-scale outreach efforts. He was then promoted to Groups Pastor in 2021, overseeing all eight adult discipleship departments for the church. During this time, he also served as the Board Vice Chair of Love INC-Littleton.
In 2022, Chris graduated from Liberty University's Rawlins School of Theology with his Masters in Divinity - Christian Apologetics. He was accepted into the PhD - Theology program, but chose to defer for five years for family considerations.
In summer 2024, God called Chris to become the Lead Pastor of Ridgeline Community Church in Castle Rock, CO, where he leverages his years of diverse and unique experiences to provide confident leadership and bold, clear truth to his people.
Chris and his wife live in the south Denver area, along with their two teenage boys and their two dogs. When not geeking out over theological minutiae, Chris enjoys reading, rooting for the Colorado Avalanche and Broncos, and Manchester City, as well as hunting, fly fishing, and touring local breweries with friends.
